A Volunteer At Your Service

Advertisements

Do you need a volunteer at your business, organisation, institution or at home? I’m offering my time for a cause. For an hour in return of your donation, I can do some tasks which you might need help with or maybe to fill-in a moment of gap of your manpower. Having a good experience and developed skills in many areas thru current and previous roles, I have thought of dedicating a bit of my free time for a cause. From running errands, gardening, as waiter to manager role in restaurants/ hotels, doing arts, microsoft office works, graphic designs, web design, Oriental culinary lessons such as sushi lessons, gardening and few more. Of course I can’t do all under the sun. When booking, you will be able to select the type of related task you may require. I can only offer an hour during my free time,  outside my work schedule, meaning, my availabilities will be limited.

As a background, The Cordillera Connection was founded in the UK in 2013, with the following charity objectives: Relief of Poverty, Protection of Good Health, Advancement of Education, and Preservation of Culture, Arts and Heritage. Coming from a third world country, the charity’s works were focused in Northern Philippines, hence called The Cordillera Connection. Conducted so far were several relief goods operations aftermath disasters and calamities, provided scholarship grants to poor students, conducted medical missions in far flung communities, organised cultural festival in relation to the preservation of culture, arts and heritage and many more. All these were made possible thru the fundraising events made within Filipino community groups as well as with Cordilleran volunteers who are based in other countries. The charity’s works continued for several years until it slowly stopped from when the pandemic brought in so many changes in the lives of volunteers.

Now that some families of volunteers relocated to work in Jersey, it is a good idea to start with the charity initiative again. Having a better work and life balance in this lovely island, it is a good idea to continue with the advocacies of the charity. The aim is to first raise funds for the charity to continue its works. Starting with myself, using my own initiative and built experience, I can simply offer my free time to individuals, homes, institutions or businesses needing help in return for donation to raise fund for the charity.

As charity works should be with no geographical, racial or any boundaries in terms of provision, we have made a change to our working name. Home Stases has been approved by UK Charity Commission as our working name. It means a balanced home, because this world we live in is our home. We need to balance things in it.

When there is enough fund, the charity can even do charity works in Jersey. That is, the celebration of diverse cultures now that Jersey is getting richer with various cultures due to the presence of different nationalities working in this beautiful and peaceful island.  The charity have organised Filipino Fete this year and the dream is to organise activities that involves the wider Jersey Communities not just for Filipinos.

Relief of Poverty: As Jersey has a higher standard of living, whilst Philippines is still a third world country, it is a plan that when some of our community members go home, they can do charity works as well.  My community alone does not have good supply of potable water. Setting up one is my ambitious dream.

Simply, the aim of this initiative is to raise fund for the charity for its future works. It is believed, that asking for donations nowadays is challenging. Hence, it is a good idea to encourage donations in return for a volunteer’s service.
